Could Paul Martin ever have gotten away with...I'll deal with the problem next year while sitting on an 8 billion dollar surplus.

Harper says wait until next year and the budget is deemed spectacular by the buffoons.
I will concede...Paul Martin could have cured cancer and it would have still been time for the Liberals to go.
Let's Rebuild...Harper will give us two years...we will see what Canadians think when the day care program falls flat on its face and harper breaks his promises to Quebec. I have a hunch it will all happen. Maybe its wishful thinking, I know I will be ready either way.

Some liberals continue to display arrogance and selective memory. Antonio, making Harper out to be the bogeyman didn't work last time and won't work next time. Give Canadians a little more credit. CHANGE TACTICS!
why dont any of you young people out there bring out the fact that this horrible mess in Quebec was not started by liberals but by two dirty tories one brought over from Mulroney...Mr.Guite and the big tory man Brault....why are the libs taking the flack when it was mastermined by tories....
Harper is dangerous to Canadian society, as we know it.. No Liberal would get away with getting near a deficit again.
The budget is not for the average person, as not everyone is well off. Martin would not have gotten a majority government if he had a budget like Harper and gang, even if he did not have the scandal from years before, done by a very few, one of them Guite who is a Conservative, and was with Mulroney..Ironic isn't it? Martin had his faults, but would never bring in such a regressive budget.
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time.
Working middle class families will quickly realize Harper has done nothing for them in this budget but make day care spaces harder to find.
Harris tried sending out cheques as well. People saw through it as poor governance and buying votes eventually. The liberals need to cruch these numbers and keep on top of them to show how their budget would have been more beneficial to Canada had it been allowed to stand.
This budget is really an election platform not a budget, next year is the real showdown. Sorry Antonio, it is. You'll have to wait.

I admit the sponsorship sank our ship and I am still accused of liberal arrogance...maybe the Tories should change their lines of attack as well
