Liz Thompson and her secret journalist technology known only as “google” was able to find out in, according to Paul Wells, 3 minutes that Mr. Paille once blackmailed companies to stop telling the truth about the consequences of eventual Quebec sovereignty. Sounds like a stand-up Conservative politician to me!
This Earnscliffe stuff still needs to be investigated, but I think at this rate, we’d be better off letting Liz do the digging than any honourable people in Michael Fortier’s rolodex…

Goes to show that there are lot's of irrational people running around.
Including those who defend a sleeze like Paille without checking up on him.
I suppose that might be why a conservative supporter like Robert Fife (CTV) is against this maneuver by Fortier. And Keith Boag (CBC) looks very uncomfortable.

Le Plan Paillé fut certainement un des pires scandales péquistes, au même titre qu'Oxygène-9.
Le gouvernement péquiste distribuait, aux entreprises qui embauchaient des ti-namis du pouvoir comme lobbyiste, des subventions de 50 000$. Il s'agissait de prêts mais vous n'aviez pas à donner de garanties personnelles. Le taux de faillite des entreprises ayant bénéficié du Plan Paillé dépasse les 80% dans les premières années. Ce fut une perte sèche. Curieusement, le Plan Paillé s'est terminé à la fin octobre 1995. Après cette date, les emprunts devaient être garantis par l'emprunteur (biens personnels). J'ai des connaissances qui ont bénéficié du Plan Paillé, dans le domaine du vêtement si je me souviens, et ils m'ont dit qu'ils ont dû absolument faire affaire avec une firme de lobby proche du gouvernement sinon les subventions n'arrivaient pas.
LE MÊME PRINCIPE QU'OXYGÈNE-9. M. Paillé ne peut pas de donner de leçons d'éthique au PLC ou à quelconque autre parti politique.
