Waiting on Stephen Harper to Condemn Coup d’Etat Attempt in Israel

Something really evil is happening in Israel.

Tzipi Livni won the Israeli election.

Benjamin Netanyahu, you may remember he marked my first day at Concordia with a little pizzazz, has come in second in the Israeli election.

However, he is claiming victory and is trying to reverse the election results.

Bibi is trying to form government with the 3rd party in Parliament, best known for wanting to secede Galilee from the rest of Israel so they can give it to the Arabs.

The fact Bibi wants to negotiate with these separatists is an act of treason.

When is Stephen Harper going to tell Benjamin Netanyahu that his madness has to end?

tony--
try brushing up on your knowledge of the israeli political system. in order to lead, a party must form a coalition of 61 or more seats. although livni's kadima won one more seat than bibi's likud, there are enough right-wing seats to form a likud-lead coalition. livni's going to have a hard time getting 61 seats together without reaching out to likud. that's what you get in a 12-party state. ultimately, president shimon peres decides who is pm. there are numerous scenarios--read all about them here: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20090210.wisraelside11/BNStory/International
also, there is no region that i know of called the galilee, unless you mean the sea? i don't think israel will be giving that up to the palestinians anytime soon, unless it's to let them try walking on water.

In a recent poll, over 70% of Canadians want Canada to leave Afghanistan immediately. They are not interested in the so-called "training mission". The LPC of Canada has not addressed this issue that a significant majority of Canadians want addressed. Why are the Libs silent?
