Réaction des JLCQ au rapport Gomery / YLCQ reaction to the Gomery report

Les Jeunes libéraux du Canada (Québec) acceptent favorablement les conclusions du rapport de la Commission Gomery. Maintenant que nous connaissons ces conclusions, nous sommes maintenant prêts à aller de l’avant avec les politiques qui nous préoccupent en tant que jeunes québécois.
Les Jeunes libéraux ont été témoins des événements qui se sont passés avant qu’ils n’aient l’âge de s’impliquer dans le parti. Nous avons été choqués par les événements et nous attendons avec intérêt les recommandations du juge dans son second rapport.
Les Jeunes libéraux du Canada section Québec acceptent avec humilité que certain acteurs, ayant agis de manière irresponsable, ne doivent plus avoir un rôle de première ordre au Parti libéral du Canada.
Liberté, égalité et tolérance sont des valeurs qui inspirent les idées et les actions des Jeunes libéraux du Canada chaque jours. Nous sommes persuadés que nos membres sont guidés par ces mêmes valeurs lors de la prise de leurs décisions politiques. La corruption n’est pas une valeur libérale.
Nous avons été littéralement assommés d’entendre les bloquistes affirmer que tous les libéraux étaient corrompus, leur chef utilisait même les « Enfants de la Charte » corrompus, faisant allusions aux jeunes. Les conservateurs et les bloquistes continuent de répandre les mensonges qu’ils répandaient avant la publication du rapport Gomery. Peu importe, nous irons de l’avant, notre dignité intacte.
Les Jeunes libéraux sont reconnus pour être progressistes et nous allons continuer à regarder vers l’avenir. Nous continuerons à aller de l’avant avec notre campagne sensibilisant les jeunes à l’implication en politique et à la défense de la Charte des droits et libertés. Nous débattrons, lors du congrès biennal de notre parti la semaine prochaine, des politiques que nous avons adopté à notre colloque de septembre dernier. Nous nous battrons vigoureusement et notre voix sera forte et claire. Les JLC(Q) continueront donc de défendre leur cause comme ils l’ont toujours fait.

The Young Liberals of Canada (Quebec) welcome the findings of the Gomery Commission. While we accept the findings of the commissioner, we are ready to move on to the issues which address our constituency, young Quebeckers.
Young Liberals have watched on the sidelines events which occurred before they were involved with the Liberal Party. We were appalled with what took place and look forward to drawing further conclusions from the recommendations of judge Gomery in his second report.
Young Liberals in Quebec accept with humility that certain actors with the party acted irresponsibly and are pleased that these actors will no longer play a role in any capacity in the party's future.
Values of liberty, equality, and tolerance are imbued in the spirit and direction the Young Liberals of Canada take every day. We are aware that our members use these values in making their daily decisions political or otherwise. Corruption is not a Liberal value.
We were stunned at Bloc allegations that all Liberals were corrupt, their house leader even daring to call the Children of the Charter corrupted. The Conservatives and Blocistes continue to spread the lies they were spreading before Gomery as it suits them. We will move on, our dignity intact.
Young Liberals are known for being progressive; and we will continue to look to the future, instead of the past. We look forward to continuing our present campaign urging political involvement and the protection of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. We look forward to debating policy which we passed in September at the party's biennial convention next week. We will fight hard and our voice will be loud and clear. The JLC(Q) would never have it any other way.
