Jack Layton Itinerary

9:00 AM Press Conference Denouncing Secret backroom Alliance between Stephane Dion and Elizabeth May

10:30 AM Caucus Meeting where Jack Layton discusses all the NDP non-backroom deals which have accomplished anything for working families.

10:31 Nap

12:00 Lunch Outdoors in front of television cameras to prove Layton isn’t engaging in any back-room deals.

1:00 Run around Parliament Hill looking for microphones to denounce the backroom deal between Elizabeth May and Stephane Dion.

2:15 Question Period spent asking Stephen Harper what he will do to prevent the affront to democracy that is the backroom deal between Stephane Dion and Elizabeth May.

3:00 Arts and Crafts at an Ottawa Elementary school in front of reporters where Jack Layton teaches kids that backroom deals are bad and that red and green make a shitty brown. “Classrooms are not backrooms.”

4:00 Holds another press conference denouncing the lack of civility in Parliament. “The NDP wants to get things done. We are open to all discussions that can get results for working families.” Elizabeth May appears in the back of the room… Layton says “You backroom wench, stop killing Canadian democracy”

5:00 Takes call with Taliban leader to negotiate peace in Afghanistan. Rejects call from Elizabeth May because he is too busy trying to cut a … deal to save Canadian lives in Afghanistan. “The Taliban and the NDP want to get results for Canadian soldiers. We don't agree with the Taliban on all the issues, but it's about going issue by issue to get things done for Canadians.”

Aww, how touching Antonio & Jason have kissed and made up. In case you missed their previous marital spat:

Could the desperation be more palpable?
Keep up the good work. The NDP will make good use of some of those seats you're bleeding away. Unfortunately so will Harper. Don't worry though, eventually you'll be relevant again- whenever federally we adopt some form of proportional representation. Let's hope Ontario takes the lead on that one.

Always count on NDP stupidity to rally Liberals Derrida

Forgive me, I don't own a decoder ring for Liberal dissembling. Dion and May make a deal which has been resoundingly criticized as both unscrupulous and politically naive. In fact, called by one of the few Libloggers worth reading "the stupidest thing ever". And you guys are rallying around NDP stupidity??? Is this all about Jack not taking Elizabeth's call? Or are you trying to conceal something else. Wow, bleeding was an understatement. The Liberals have hemorrhaged.

Oh Derrida, I think you are confused.

I am also against the deal, I have too much respect for the 10 000 Liberals in Central Nova.

But the NDP decrying back-room deals when their only accomplishment in Party history is the result of a backroom deal, is the dumbest thing ever.

Even Dippers should be scratching their heads.

No offense Derrida.. but I've seen no polls lately that show the NDP picking up any bleeding Liberal support. The last SES poll would indicate the opposite was happening out in BC and in Ontario.

And uh.. there doesn't have to be "kissing and making up". I know for a fact Antonio still doesn't like the May-Dion pact.. but that wont stop him from ridiculing the NDP for its supposed piousness on the backroom issue.. (or the fact he wants to talk to the Taliban but not Liz May).

Derrida: I don't think the deal was unscrupulous. Stupid, yes, maybe, but not unscrupulous.

Antonio,

That was really funny.

I think the appropriate FARK comment would be:

You owe me a new keyboard.

My NDP friends are stupid with anger over this May-Dion marriage. They always thought Elizabeth May would wait for them to grow up.

It must suck to be that wrong.

And now they are lashing out.

Typical.

I really think Harper must go to bed at night cursing his luck that Layton isn NDP leader right now. Harper and Ed Broadbent would be mincing the Liberals right now.

I wanted Chernushenko, I feel May is a bit silly in her approach. She's not a real leader, in my mind. Oh, and jetting around in airplanes lecturing about carbon emissions? Right...

May takes the train [where possible]. It's not her fault the Liberals and P.Conservatives allowed CN and CP to scrap our transcontinental passenger rail system.

I'm liking this blog. Folks that push back, sometimes with wit and intelligence. Definitely unlike Cherniak. Although he's a feeble-minded dim wit, I marvel at his ability to persist in the face of such heavy criticism. He was definitely overindulged as a child, but I plan to be there when he has his meltdown. Then I can stop reading him althogether and read guys like you, Cerberus, and Calgary Grit. You're predictably partisan, as I'm sure I appear, but intelligently so.
