Jack Layton will make a decision today which will greatly affect the future of our country. Essentially Jumpin Jack will decide if his poll numbers are high enough to make Stephen Harper Prime Minister. It’s ok Stephen Harper can't do that much damage to the social programs which the Liberals, Bloc, and NDP solidly support. However, it is not that I am worried about.
Tories, desperate for power will have to rely on separatists for survival. What will they do to get things passed? The Bloc are reactionists, using public anger to prop up support for their causes. Remember the Gas crisis, the evil oil companies and the 1.35$ a litre conspiracy, well last time I checked, gas was at 89.4c/L in Saint Leonard, and talks of a crisis have died down. The Bloc voted against 5 billion dollars for the environment, which would help fund the technology to be less reliant on gas. The Bloc vote against the interests of Quebec if it is in their own interest. Only one Bloquiste has done anything effective since the Bloc was formed FIFTEEN years ago, and that only happened when he joined the government. Their main goal is to weaken the federal government so the time is right for a referendum. Now the Bloc will hold the knife to Harper’s throat. Is this what Jack Layton really wants? Brace Yourselves

Liberals back up in the polls released today after the weekend..by the time the opposition could defeat the government (i.e. Nov.15) the liberals will be firmly back..
